Day Six
Having had a great relaxing weekend at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, it was time to carry on with the ride across America. We left at 07.:30 hrs and seemed to be flying due to a good tailwind, so much so that we had covered approx 65 miles in around 3.5 hours our quickest time yet. This was also achievable as the terrain was really kind to us being straight and downhill in many places. In fact we completed our journey of 98 miles today before the support RV had reached our nightstop rendevous point. They were really surprised at the fantastic headway we had made and couldn't beleive how quick we had covered our distance.
We finished at the junction of the extra terrestial highway close to area 51 which is a closely guarded American facility, used for monitoring extra terrestial activity and reported sightings of UFOs and other alien phenomena. After a well earned supper of spaghetti bolognaise and our customary rubdown from Roy the physio, we were visited by a local news reporter who was keen to cover our story so far and take a few photos for an article he was going to put together for the local radio and newspapers.
It's now 2200 hrs and time for heads to hit pillows as tomorrow is another ride of 105 miles so rest is the law.
Till tomorrow.
