First launched in May, 1995 Scotland.com has had only one owner- NewMedia Holdings, Inc. Since 2004, the site has been continuously operated by Paley Media, Inc. - a web consultancy company which is exclusively responsible for managing and overseeing day to day administration, development, and management of this site.

Over the years, and at the request of its visitors as well as members, Scotland.com has undergone a number of changes both to its design as well as its services and features.
