What is the Air Warfare Centre Cranwell (AWC (C))

The Air Warfare Centre Cranwell AWC(C) is one of 11 sites located throughout the UK which together form The Air Warfare Centre, the HQ being located at RAF Waddington. The AWC Mission is to contribute to the military capability of Air Command by developing and implementing operational and tactical doctrine and providing essential and timely integrated mission support to RAF operational units in peace and in war. Additionally, the AWC, as host to the collocated Defence Electronic Warfare Centre, is to contribute to the military capability of all 3 Services by providing Electronic Warfare (EW) support direct to Permanent Joint Headquarters and all operational units.

What is our purpose

The primary mission of the AWC(C) is to develop Air Power doctrine; arm the warrior by providing progressive air warfare training and specific training in battle management; weapons employment and targeting, EW and the use of military space; and to create intelligent customers by providing aerosystems training and expertise.
