What can The Old Cranwellian Association offer me?

Membership of The Old Cranwellian Association entitles you:

1. To receive a free copy of the annual College Journal containing articles on the College activities and sports. An insert is also included giving news of serving and retired Old Cranwellian Association members.

2. To attend the Annual Reunion, held in June each year. Some 200 members take the opportunity to meet up with old friends. Traditionally the format includes sporting fixtures against College teams on the Saturday, followed by the Association's Annual General Meeting and Reunion Dinner in the evening.

3. To wear the Association tie. The design incorporates light blue cranes on a dark blue background.

Am I eligible to be a member?


There are 3 types of membership:

1. Full Membership. The following are eligible for Full Membership of the Association.

a) All past and present officers who have graduated from the Royal Air Force College, Cranwell.

b) All officers who hold or who have held the appointment of Commandant, Assistant Commandant or Director of thr Department of Initial Officer Training of the Royal Air Force College.

c) All Members elected to Full Membership prior to January 1937.

2. Honorary Membership. The Annual General Meeting have the power to invite and enrol distinguished persons as Honorary Members of the Association.

3. Associate Membership. Each year the Committee can enrol a number of Associate Members, any person eligible for Associate Membership must be:

a) A serving or retired officer who has served on the staff of the Royal Air Force College for not less than one year.

b) Any person who has rendered specially valuable services to the Royal Air Force College for not less than one year.

c) Any serving or retired regular officer who entered the Royal Air Force College but for some reason graduated from another training unit.

How much does it cost?

The annual subscription for Full or Associate Membership of the Association is £20.00 payable on 1 January.

How do I apply to join?

If you would like to apply to join The Old Cranwellian Association, print out the Registration and Direct Debit Forms and return them to the Treasurer. You will also need to enclose a cheque for £20.00 made out to ‘The Old Cranwellian Association' for subscription fees.
