Catering, retail and leisure (CRL) is the programme to modernise the provision of food and beverages on RAF units to meet the needs of today’s Service personnel, plus the many civilians who work on and make use of the facilities at RAF bases. It will introduce a pay-as-you dine provision at the Messes and will replace the NAAFI function in support of the leisure outlets and on-base shopping. This is a key programme for the RAF and will focus on providing facilities that are the preferred option for service people, their families and others who work on RAF units.

CRL Vision

• A modern and integrated service that reflects the lifestyle of today's Servicemen.

• A Catering, Retail and Leisure (CRL) service using outsourced delivery, based on partnering principles.

• Potential for inward investment from the contactor to provide improved facilities.

• A system that allows individual choice in which people pay only for what they decide to buy.

• Facilities that are open to the wider MOD community.
