Reasons To Join RAFCA

Membership to the RAF Cycling Association is FREE and you can join by registering to the forum. Access to the forum is limited to RAFCA Members & RAFCA Associate Members ONLY (ACU & RNRMCA Members will also be granted access as well as those dictated to by policy). To become a member of RAFCA and to gain access to this forum, you must register for an account using a valid email address (preferably your personal DII one e.g. John.Smith123@mod.uk). You will then be sent a registration form. Upon completion of the registration form your details will be submitted for checking. There maybe a time delay in approval so please be patient. 1. Support for Expeds & Bike Maintenance

There is a large number of qualified instructors within RAFCA who are more than willing to share their experience and time to ensure that your cycling exped is a success.

2. Ride and Train Overseas

The RAF Cycling Association runs at least 2 overseas training camps every year. The road contingent take advantage of the quiet roads and warm climate of Majorca while the mountainbikers head for the demanding and technical terrain of the Sierra Nevada in Spain.

3. Cycle-Specific Coaching

Joining RAFCA will give you access to our qualified coaching staff who will help you structure your training to achieve the best results.

4. Great Discounts

RAF Cycling has teamed up with some big UK cycling brands to offer fantastic discounts to all club members. For more details contact a committee member or log on to the forum.

5. Subsidised Race Kit

All of the RAF cycling kit is made by Decca and is heavily subsidised through sponsorship by the RAF Sports Lottery. This highly recognisable kit is available to all club members.

6. Duty Status To Travel And Race

If you are selected to race for RAFCA you will be entitled to request military transport but more importantly you will be granted duty status. This means that if you are seriously injured you will be given the full support of the RAF.

7. Support Equipment while You Race

RAFCA has a huge inventory of support equipment from pop-up shelters and workstands to generators, toolkits and bike cleaners. These are all available to use at events for club members.

8. Financial Support To Race

As a representative of RAFCA you will be entitled to a part reimbursment of race entry fees. If you are really good you may be nominated for an annual grant to pay for sports equipment.

9. Elite Athlete Protocol

As a representative of RAF Cycling you will have access to a fast-track treatment scheme for sports injuries called the elite athlete protocol.
