RAF Coast to Coast
Coast 2 Coast Sociable Challenge Ride 2009
Come and join us for an opportunity to undertake a real adventure challenge whatever your ability.
What?
The annual RAF Cycling Club, Coast to Coast is an off or on-road cycling challenge for all abilities.
In Summary:
• The 2009 event will run from 7th to 10th September.
• Camp overnight on West Coast of Lake District and get to know club members.
• Set of From St Bees taking in the awesome scenery of the Lake District before camping at the foot of Ullswater.
• Depart the Lake’s and pass through the North Pennines before camping at Consett.
• Ride to North Pier, Tynemouth before travelling home.
Why?
It is aimed at challenging all levels of participation, testing endurance and determination on this long distance, multi-day bike ride. The event has recruited many a new members to the RAF Cycling fold who have gone on to be qualified MTB leaders and/or successful competitive racers.
How?
The event is open to all new and established members of RAF Cycling. To become a member, navigate to the administration pages. There you can download a membership form for your free membership.
You will need a reasonable mountain bike and you will need to put some training in between now and September.

It is requested that where possible participating units provide a support driver and MT (travel authority is arranged), although smaller units unable to achieve this, will be accommodated.
The approximate cost is just £20 (subject to participation).
