CATERING SERVICES
- The Catering Services provided at RAF Digby will be of the highest standard within the limits of financial constraints.
- Catering staffs will be polite, professional and responsive to customer wishes.
- All meals will be provided at the appropriate temperatures and will be nutritious and imaginative.
- Meals will be served during advertised and agreed times in all messes.
- Formal and informal functions will be supported as promulgated in Mess Entertainment Diaries.
- Residential Catering Support will be provided against agreed entitlements.
- Catering will be provided in support of authorised and recognised operational, training and sporting commitments.
- Messes and all equipment therein will be maintained to a clean and hygienic standard iaw the Food Safety Act.
- Mess Meetings will be held regularly during which food standards and levels of service will be discussed.
- Periodic Customer Attitude Surveys will be conducted and all returns will be acknowledged within 5 working days of receipt iaw the Flt Quality Plan.
- The Flt Quality Manager will conduct monthly Quality Audits iaw the Flt Quality Plan.
Officers Mess
Meal Times:
Weekday Breakfast: 0700 - 0815
Weekday Luncheon: 1200 - 1330
Weekday Dinner: Mon - Thurs: 1815-1915
Combined Messing in WO & Sgt’s Mess in effect after Lunch on Fridays.
Friday High tea: 1630 - 1730
Weekend Breakfast: 0630 - 0830
Weekend Brunch: 0930 - 1030
Weekend Lunch: 1200 - 1300
Weekend High Tea: 1645 – 1745
A traditional cooked breakfast will be served at the table (week days only) and self-service for Continental Breakfast, cereals, toast, coffee/tea and fruit juice.
Lunch will be waiter served in the Bar area or in the Main Dining Room (week days only). A sandwich bar will operate throughout the luncheon period. Vegetarian choices will be available and other dietary requirements will be catered for on request

Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess
Meal Times:
Weekday Breakfast: 0630 - 0830
Weekday Luncheon: 1130 - 1300
Weekday Dinner: 1700 - 1830
Friday High tea: 1630 – 1730
Weekend Breakfast: 0630 - 0830
Weekend Brunch: 0930 - 1030
Weekend Lunch: 1200 - 1300
Weekend High Tea: 1645 – 1745
Breakfast will be self-service, offering cereal, toast, fresh fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice as well as the cooked traditional choice.
Lunch will be self-service and provided from a hot servery with 3 main choices, plus omelettes to order, a vegetarian choice and a lean and low option. A seasonal salad buffet will be provided within budgetary limits
Evening meal will be pre order-service from the main servery and consist of a roast joint and 2 other table d’hôte choices. A seasonal salad buffet will be available within financial restraints. A selection of desserts and fresh fruit are offered.
There is no change at weekends

Junior Ranks Mess
Meal Times
Weekday Breakfast: 0615 - 0830
Weekday Lunch: 1130 - 1300
Weekday Dinner: Mon - Thurs 1645 – 1800

Friday High tea: 1630 - 1730
Weekend Breakfast: 0630 - 0830
Weekend Brunch: 0930 - 1030
Weekend Lunch: 1200 - 1300
Weekend High Tea: 1645 - 1745
Breakfast will be self-service and consist of a traditional cooked, continental, cereal, toast and preserves.
Lunch will be self-service of at least 5 choices including soup and roll, a vegetarian, two potato, two vegetable choices and a lean and low option offered. A salad buffet and sandwich bar will be served, seasonally adjusted within budgetary constraints.
The evening meal will be of a similar variety to lunch, however this will be the main meal of the day and will include a roast joint. Hot and cold desserts will be provided.
Packed evening meals will be provided for duty personnel. These are to be ordered 24 hrs in advance.
