Emergency Clinics

For service personnel an out of hours emergency scheme exists. Please contact the MOD Operator on 01526 327200 and inform them that you have a Dental emergency, leaving a contact number. The Duty Dental Officer for the region will call you back and arrange a location and an appointment, this may mean that you will have to travel as far as RAF Coningsby.

Emergencies (whilst on leave)

Emergencies occurring whilst on leave are rare but you should seek emergency treatment from the nearest Service unit within 20 miles, whether it is RAF, Navy or Army. You should only seek treatment from a civilian dentist if there is no such service unit within 20 miles and even then you should:

• a. Ensure that only NHS treatment is carried out.
• b. Ensure that only emergency treatment is carried out.
• c. Ensure you get a receipt to reclaim costs.
