Hobbies, Clubs & Family info

If you have a hobby or pastime you wish to pursue on station, there may be a club for it. We currently have over 40 such clubs, a list of which appears regularly in SROs. OC GD Flt (Ext 7423) will be able to tell you if there is one, and who runs it. If one does not exist, why not start one – the Stn Adj can tell you how!

The Silver Maple Club

The Silver Maple & Families Club is situated next to the junior ranks mess. It provides an entertainment facility, through which all servicemen and women can participate in social, cultural and recreational activities, which are not otherwise provided for. The club offers three well-priced bars, which are available for private hire (application forms are available from the bar along with terms and conditions). Amongst the many and varied facilities on offer are Sky TV, snooker and pool tables, darts, gaming machines, skittles and state of the art disco equipment. A full entertainment package is run throughout the year including live bands, comedians etc and is on a monthly basis, there’s also a disco, held fortnightly.

Opening times are:

Friday & Saturday 1900 – 2359 hrs

Sunday 1400 – 1800 hrs and 1930 – 2330 hrs

Children are allowed in the club supervised by a parent or other adult member during the following times:

Friday 1700 - 2200 hrs

Saturday 1930 – 2200 hrs

Sunday 1600 – 1900 hrs
