RAF Wyton Malta Rally 2007

RAF Wyton Pathfinder Flying Club - Malta Rally 2007

The Malta Air Rally is an annual event involving pilots from throughout Europe. It is not a race but a series of events designed to test the airmanship and planning skills of those involved. The events include:

  • A specific time to be over a Giordan Lighthouse at Gozo on your arrival date (12:10 L)
  • A specific time to complete a certain distance based on cruising speed (8:35 from Lighthouse to Luqa ATC, a distance of 18.6 miles)
  • Spot Landing competition
  • Concours D’ Elegance
  • Flight Planning
  • Longest Distance Flown

A turning point taken from the air. This year’s event was intended to be the Royal Air Force Flying Clubs Association (RAFFCA) venue but for a myriad of reasons, RAF Wyton was the only RAFFCA aircraft to make it.

The gallery contains just a few stunning images of the trip.  A report can be found on the Pathfinder wesbite or by clicking:
