A6 Golf Challenge; 24 Sep 09
A6 Golf Challenge, 24 Sep 09
The A6 Golf Challenge for 2009 will take place at Newbury and Crookham Golf Club on Thursday 24 Sep 09. Those who played last year will confirm that the Newbury course is an excellent layout and proved to be generally central for travelling to and from.
The cost of the day will remain the same as last year, namely £39 per person. Unlike last year, however, when a day’s leave was required and travel costs were our own, this year we have RAF Sports Board recognition whereby the event is deemed ‘duty’, saving a day’s leave, and travel costs can be reclaimed. EADS has again agreed to provide prizes for the competition, which means the day is great value for money for the individual.
The format of the day involves a 9-hole morning Texas Scramble warm-up followed by the afternoon’s 2-man team Stableford main event. Ideally teams should be from the same Unit/organisation but, in the event of individual entries being received (which is perfectly acceptable), players will be paired off into teams.
The Application Form should be completed and returned to Sqn Ldr Neil Flather (details in Application Form), with your cheque, at your earliest convenience - but not later than 18 Sep 09. If the A6 Golf Challenge is over-subscribed, entries will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
Your support in attending this increasingly popular event is strongly encouraged.
Please note that this event, whilst recognised by the RAF Sports Board, is not an official RAF Golf Association event, eligibility for entry being limited to serving personnel of the A6/CIS/ICT branches/trades or personnel currently serving in an A6/CIS/ICT post.
