Sgt Dain Lewis - Ladies Coach

Ladies' Coach

COACHING STATEMENT FOR SEASON 2010-2011

INTRODUCTION TO COACHING STAFF

This is an incredibly exciting time for Royal Air Force Hockey and an honour for me to press forward the training already delivered by Sqn Ldr Lucy Newcombe. At this point I would like to underline the difficult and sometimes lonely position that the Coach may find. To that end I would like to say what a fantastic job Lucy did last season raising the level of the ladies game.

I will work with the extended squad to promote basic core skills and develop best practice. Squad members can look forward to technical updates as well as current International thinking. My training emphasis will be firmly placed on core skills, elimination and team dynamics. High standard of fitness will be expected as I consider fitness to be a personal responsibility. However, if requested I will provide information on fitness training, preparation and nutrition.

PLAYERS

The main aim of the season will be to win the Inter-Services and to lay the foundation to ensure the title remains in Royal Air Force colours for the foreseeable future. For this to happen we will work on key developmental areas of our game. This will be a two way process and I will accept and expect constructive feedback from each and every session.

If you would like to be involved contact the Team Manager Sqn Ldr Carole McCullough for further details.

I look forward to working with you all.
