Welcome to RAF Honington
Welcome to the Royal Air Force Honington website. RAF Honington is a station with a history as a major flying base that dates back to the 1930s but which today is the RAF's main centre of Force Protection. RAF Honington is part of Air Command and is operationally under the command of No 2 Group.
The Station is in Suffolk, situated midway between the main towns of Bury St Edmunds to the south and Thetford in Norfolk to the north. The proximity of the main A14 road into East Anglia, mainline connected rail stations at Bury St Edmunds and Thetford and only 40 mins from London Stansted make the Station's rural location very accessible.
