Base Support Wing
From 2005, the former Administrative Wing changed it's title to Support Wing to reflect the diverse range of activity that is undertaken by some 350 service and civilian personnel in underpinning the military output of RAF Kinloss.
The Wing's responsibilities are manifold and encompass the maintenance of the estate and it's infrastructure, including the health and safety organisation and related energy and enviromental concerns; the security of the Station and it's personnel; coporate communications; the Station's budget and management planning; the personal management of it's service and civilian personnel, including pay, accounts (public and non-public), travel cell and discipline; the delivery of Force Development activities, including training and personal development, adventurous training, sporting activities, fitness testing, common core skills and deployment training. It provides for dental, medical and psychiatric care, meets the pastoral and spiritual needs of all personnel and delivers a wide range of welfare and community support services. Finally, it operates 3 messes and an in-flight kitchen for rationing aircraft.
Overall, these many activities are undertaken by host of individuals who are dedicated to ensuring that RAF Kinloss delivers a quality product in support of the Station.
