Role
RAF Regiment Force Protection Wing Headquarters and RAF Regiment Field Squadrons provide vital protection for deployed air operating bases. The RAF Regiment Wing Headquarters provide Force Protection planning, reconnaissance, mission analysis and subsequent Command and Control of force protection for national and multinational forces at deployed air operating bases, such as Kandahar in Afghanistan. RAF Regiment Field Squadrons are ground close-combat units who respond to threats to airfields, thereby allow air operations to continue despite adversary action.
