Community Development Officer

The CDO manages and directs Community Support at RAF Leuchars. As part of the Service’s commitment to serving personnel, the Community Development Officer’s main task is to ensure that both serving personnel and their families enjoy all the support and facilities they are entitled to – striving to ensure the Station promotes a strong sense of community spirit and general well-being throughout.

At Leuchars, the CDO works towards creating and promoting a thriving, vibrant, sustainable community, one that will improve everyone’s quality of life. A main requirement for this successful promotion is to facilitate communication, interaction and discussions between the Station and the local authority, key statutory services, local community groups and Station personnel and families.

Service Community Support Officer

The SCSO acts as a facilitator of communication between the RAF Community, the Station Community Support Team and chain of command; manages and coordinates the units Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) systems and acts as the Station’s C&DS DE (Housing) representative.

Community Development Assistant

The CDA provides co-coordinates all bookings for the hire of the Community Centre, liaises with community groups, and assists in the planning and organisation of the Community Activity Day (CAD).

The Community Support Team

The Community Support Team (CST) at RAF Leuchars is dedicated to focussing on the needs and requirements of the Station and its local community. They meet on a 6-weekly basis. The committee members are:
