Community Centre
The Community Centre is a purpose built Welfare and Community Support (W&CS) facility, which accommodates all of the W&CS providers under one roof. The providers based in the building include the Community Development Officer, Service Community Support Officer, Community Development Assistant, HIVE Information Officer, SSAFA, Padres and Health Visitor.
The facilities in the Community Centre include:
Activity Hall
The activity hall is used to hold dependant’s deployment briefs as well as being utilised by a number of groups throughout the day and evening including mums and tots, jazzercise and karate club – details of all groups operating in the Community Centre can be viewed on the timetable. The activity hall can be hired out for charity events or birthday parties, charges are detailed below.
Multi-Purpose Meeting Room
The multi-purpose meeting room is a large meeting room which can hold around 15 people. The meeting room will soon have the facility to conduct PowerPoint presentations. The meeting room can be hired out to external agencies at a cost.
Soft Play Area
The soft play area consists of a toddler area for children under 3 years of age and the main area for children between 4 and 7 years of age. The soft play area is free throughout the working week from 0900 hrs to 1530 hrs. Out with these hours the soft play area can be hired for birthday parties, charges are detailed below.
Coffee Shop
The coffee shop is available to all community centre users from Monday to Friday 0930 hrs to 1430 hrs. The coffee shop sells a selection paninis, baguettes, sandwiches, hot/cold drinks and snacks at reasonable prices.
Charges for the Community Centre Facilities
All prices are on a per hour basis:
- Activity Hall (whole hall) - £15
- Activity Hall (½ hall) - £8
- Activity Hall – Charity Events - £5
- Multi-Purpose Meeting Room - £7
- Soft Play Area - £2.50 per child
