The HIVE at RAF Leuchars
The HIVE is situated within the new Community Centre.
The HIVE is an information centre providing information to all members of the Service community within the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force. It is part of an established worldwide network of Service Information Centres.
The HIVE welcomes all new arrivals to RAF Leuchars. Collect your tailor made Welcome Pack from the HIVE office.
Opening Hours
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 08.00 - 12.30 then 13.00 - 16.00
- 1st Tuesday and last Thursday of the month the opening times are 08.00 - 11.30 then 13.00 - 16.00
- Closed daily for lunch between 1230 - 1 pm.
Newsletter
The HIVE newsletter is sent out to all quarter areas and anyone who has asked to be placed on their list on a monthly basis. The flyer is filled with information about ‘What’s on in the Community Centre’, useful numbers, discounts, welfare and much more.
Deployment Support
The HIVE facilitates deployment support for families/partners. ‘Home Alone’ trips are provided on average once a month and various deployment packs are available for children, teenagers, and adults. If your partner is deployed then please contact the HIVE for more information.
HIVE Outreach
The HIVE provides a monthly outreach service for all personnel and dependents at the DELTA. Hours are:
- 1st Tuesday of the month 11.30 - 12.30
- Station Outreach on last Thursday of the month from 11.30 - 12.30
This service was initially provided for single serving personnel, but is now open to all. The HIVE can advise on many topics from local & unit facilities, contact houses, childcare, local discounts, and local places of interest to visit, welfare provisions on Station, and many more topics. If the HIVE information officer cannot answer you there and then, she will find out the information for you.
The Chill Out Zone, the Non Alcoholic Facility in the Delta, has a wide screen television; comfy seating and 3 free Internet access computers. The HIVE has leaflets of local interest available for personnel in the Chill Out Zone and Information Request Forms are also available for any queries anyone may have if out with HIVE outreach times. These can be filled in and posted in the HIVE post-box on the desk in the Chill Out Room.
