Welcome to RAF Linton on Ouse
Mission: To train tomorrow’s fast-jet aircrew
RAF Linton on Ouse is one of the busiest airfields in the country. Tasked with the training future fast jet pilots for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy, the Station operates the Tucano T1.
Our mission is clear – to train tomorrow’s fast jet pilots – but we also perform a range of other tasks. All our military personnel have the potential to deploy operationally and are currently supporting operations in Afghanistan, Italy and the Falklands. We place great emphasis on training and preparing them as individuals for these wider commitments. In addition we value the experience and facilities that we have here on the station and we use these to benefit the wider community in which we exist. RAF Linton-on-Ouse supports the wider RAF family – from air cadets to veterans – as well as working with local community organisations, youth groups, schools, and colleges to promote the Royal Air Force as a first class employer and a good neighbour in the Vale of York.
On these pages you will find a host of information about our Station, the people that work here and the role that we perform. We hope that you find it interesting and informative.
