DENTAL SERVICES

The Regional Dental Centre offers full dental services to all serving personnel which includes a full time hygienist. Unfortunately there is no available provision for dependants to register with the Centre.

To book an appointment call Dental Reception on Ext 6489.

There is a Sick Parade held every day at 1000 hrs. Call reception to make an emergency appointment on the day.

Out of Hours Cover is provided on a rotational basis by all units within the region. If you require treatment out of hours, call the Dental Answer phone on Ext 6489 to listen to the message which will give contact details for that day’s cover.

MEDICAL SERVICES

The Regional Medical Centre at Lyneham is open from 0800 to 1830 Monday to Friday for Service personnel and dependants. An out of hours service is provided by Wiltshire Medical Services who are contactable on 01249 456530.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY CALL 999 AND ASK FOR THE AMBULANCE SERVICE.

The RMC has a wide range of medical staff who are able to offer a comprehensive set of services. The List below indicates the range of services available; for full details of clinic times please pick up a copy of the RMC Practice Leaflet or call reception on 896382.

SSAFA

SSAFA are represented at RAF Lyneham by a SSAFA Forces Help Personal and Family Support Worker. SSAFA works together with the RAF and other agencies to help advise and support families who are experiencing difficulties.

The SSAFA office is located in Teal House and can offer help and advice on the following things:

  • Debt or Financial Matters
  • Family/Relationship or Personal Difficulties
  • Benefits Advice
  • Illness/Disability
  • Bereavement or Loss
  • Housing Issues
  • Marital Separation
  • Adoption Enquires
  • Leaving the Service

Home Start which offers a helping hand to those with children under 5. Tel 01672 515686.

RELATE which has a contract to provide subsidized services to personnel at Lyneham. The service is completely confidential; for more details call 01452 522071 (Swindon) or 08707 779828 (Chippenham and Calne).

COMMUNITY SERVICES

The Community Development Worker is based in Teal House to act as a link between the station and the local community. She looks at any gaps in the community support infrastructure and how they may be addressed and works closely with groups in the local community to strengthen relationships. The Community Development Worker can be contacted on 01249 892947.
