Waddington (RCP,RCS,C/L,Ind, Heli,Jet)
Welcome to RAF Waddington Model Aircraft Club.
The RAF Waddington Model Aircraft Club is affiliated to the RAF Model Aircraft Association (RAFMAA) and the British Model Flying Association (BMFA). Membership of the club is open to all servicemen, dependants MOD and Civilians eligible for RAFMAA membership, serving at RAF Waddington, Digby and Scampton.
The club is authorised to fly from BRAVO taxiway adjacent to the New Fire Section. Flying is normally allowed at weekends and station stand downs, with limited flying available during summer evenings, on negotiation with the duty ATC supervisor.
An airfield driving permit is required to in order to reach our flying site and permission from the local ATC controller is required before going into the aircraft manoeuvring area. All visitors and members who do not hold a current airfield driving permit must therefore be escorted to/from the flying site.
All model flyers must have BMFA Insurance as this provides the mandatory insurance cover required for model flying on Ministry of Defence (MOD) property
Full rules, location and flying times are available in the submenu Site Info.
There is no limit on engine size or model size. However a condition of our operating licence is that our models do not exceed a noise level of 82dBA at 7m, (measured in accordance with the method described in the BMFA Member's Handbook).
There is a clubhouse located in building 688P, on the eastern side of the Airfield close to western end of the old 07/25 runway, access to this is currently controlled by the OIC.
