Sovereign's Colour Parade Print for Sale

The Sovereign’s Colour Parade took place at RAF Marham on 18th July 2010. The Parade saw Her Majesty The Queen, present the Royal Auxiliary Air Force with a replacement Colour and inaugural Standards to 2623 Squadron and 2620 Squadron. The Air Commodore-in-Chief was received with a Royal Salute and flypast that included Puma, Hercules and Tornado aircraft; each type representative of the operations with which the Royal Auxiliary Air Force is currently associated. The 4 flights on parade, together with the Colour and Standard Parties comprised of the Officers, Warrant Officers, Non-commissioned Officers, airmen and airwomen drawn from no less than 17 of the Squadrons of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force. This historic occasion was the largest gathering of Royal Auxiliary Air Force personnel since the first Sovereign’s Colour was presented in 1989. The Honorary Inspector General of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Lord Beaverbrook received the Sovereign’s Colour and the parade was witnessed by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen Dalton together with many Royal Auxiliary Air Force Honorary Air Commodores.

To commemorate the day, the renowned British military artist, Stuart Brown, was commissioned to capture the moment the Colour was presented by Her Majesty. The result is a truly stunning piece of military art, entitled ‘The Sovereign’s Colour’. High quality prints of the original painting have been limited to just 300 copies, each numbered and signed by the artist.
