Update - 18 September 2011
we have just gone past the half way point at 9 1/2 weeks and have already raised just over £30,000, we would like to continue raising money past the £31,000 to see how high we can set the bar. We have also completed 22,000 miles and are well on course to do the mileage an more, we are averaging just over 2000 miles each week. We value your continued support.

Update - 2 July 2011
In the first three weeks we have raised £10,800 for our chosen charities and we have travelled an astonishing 7,500 miles towards our goal, all while working relentless 12-hour shifts in the 45° heat.

Background Information:
In July 2011, 31 Squadron will deploy to Afghanistan in support of our ground troops. As a Squadron we would like to do more for them. In order to achieve this we will be running, cycling or rowing, a distance of 31000 miles, aiming to raise 31,000 pounds for Help for Heroes and tickets for troops.co.uk. This is a difficult but achievable goal and will be undertaken whilst we are serving our country on Operations. Your support, as always, is greatly appreciated.
