Wednesday February 11th
We are not sure what to call this evening but we will meet in the Chaplaincy Centre at 1930 hrs to offer the opportunity to those who are often unable to attend events during the day to meet people in a similar situation. Refreshments will be provided to include food.
Sunday March 1st
Walking in a winter wonderland
It’s the time of year to wrap up warm, get out in the fresh air and experience the magical spectacles nature has to offer at Welney Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. The wintering wild swans at Welney are one of the best natural spectacles in the UK. Each winter up to 9,000 Whooper and Bewick’s swans make their way from Iceland and Arctic Russia to spend the winter on the Ouse Washes at Welney.
We will leave RAF Marham at 1430 hrs for an afternoon in the Discovery and Craft area at Welney, followed by High Tea and in order to see the most swans we will catch the 18.30 feed.
I am reliably informed that there is nothing more romantic and magical than hundreds of swans gliding around the lagoon lit by floodlights. The Observatory is heated.
Sunday March 22nd
(Mothering Sunday)
Another opportunity for you to lunch with other people who may be on their own, but not necessarily so. If you are not sure please ring Michelle on 338173 or Liz on 339926.
February 17th
Craft Day
1000 – 1600 hrs in the Youth Club
Fancy getting creative and experiencing the joy that comes from starting something from scratch, well this is your opportunity to get into a favourite tried and tested craft or maybe try out something new.
Jo and Emma will be open all day providing you with the materials to have a go at a fantastic range of crafts. Drop-in for part or all of the day (bring a packed lunch if you staying all day) 8’s and over may attend unaccompanied but little ones will have to be accompanied, as we will not have sufficient staff.
February 17th
Kiddi Gym
will be open from 1300 hrs – 1600 hrs on this afternoon in the Sandnringham Centre.
February 18th
Mobile Skate Park
from 1000 hrs on car park behind the SPAR shop.
A day of fun and challenging activities for everyone on the mobile skate park consisting of 11 skate ramps and rails and wait for it… a mobile half pipe. To challenge you even further there will be a climbing wall suitable for those with little or no experience or those of you with a vast range of climbing techniques. To ensure no one is left out a mini bouldering wall is available as an ideal introduction to climbing and is suitable for very little ones as it is only a few feet off the ground and surrounded by thick shock absorbent crash matting.
IT Training
Get in touch today if you would like to improve your PC knowledge and begin IT studies.
Whether you just want some basic instruction on how to use your computer or you are looking for a recognised qualification, courses are available here at RAF Marham for all dependents. Please let us know what level you need and providing there is enough of you interested we will implement them.
