A typical day in the life of a camper
After 26 years our day camp formula is tried and tested and it works. No day or week at camp is ever the same as we engage each child in a rotation of exciting adventurous, sporting and creative activities as well as a host of special attractions such as our mobile climbing wall, and roller disco and themed weeks and special events that capture the imagination of both children and staff and even some parents too!!
Normal Camp Hours
Normal Camp activities begin at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm. For busy and working parents, Campers can arrive from 8.30am and stay with us until 5.30pm where they will enjoy some extra ice breaker sessions and team games at no extra charge. We also offer an extended day service from 8.00am until 6.00pm for which there is an additional cost of £50.
Getting Started
Over 70% of campers come to camp alone and will be grouped according to their ages. If they come with friends we will arrange for them to be grouped together to ensure their holiday gets off to a great start. However our experienced staff ensure that every child in their group fits right in by engaging in some easy going getting to know you games and site tour which we call ‘ice breaker’
Safety First
After our site fire drill our campers could be turning their hand to a range of activities and games. All activities are explained fully in a session debrief and any specialist equipment necessary is fitted in accordance with the national governing guidelines.
Food Glorious Food
Campers are offered a drink after every session and Playtime Campers receive a morning and afternoon snack. Most children opt for our Camp Picnic style lunch which includes a selection of sandwiches, crisps, fruit, snack and a drink delivered freshly to our camp each day. Children can take lunch from home and all children in a group enjoy their lunch together.
Camp Policies
Each camp has very clear child policies drawn up in accordance with OFSTED the regulator body for the summer camp industry under the 2004 Children Act. Camp Beaumont Day Camps are also independently inspected by BAHA the British Activity Holiday Association. Every aspect of camp operations and procedures endeavour to meet the high standards set out by these bodies.
Camp Programming
At the end of each day every child is welcome to take home a copy of their activity programme informing parents of the days events. Our Camp Leaders and Camp Director is always available to discuss any aspect of your child’s programme. Every camp operates a wet weather programme in accordance with the camp indoor facilities. Some activities may need to be cancelled on grounds of health and safety due to the weather but alternatives are always offered.
What to bring
Each parent will receive an online joining welcome pack packed with all pre camp information to ensure you and your child are ready for camp. Included will be a medical forms which must be taken to camp on the first morning. Camp badges are allocated daily. We recommend your child takes a swimming costume and towel each day to ensure they can participate fully in our Splash and Atlantic Zone as well as their swimming sessions. Swimming is not available daily.
