Dance 4 Marham in the Sandringham Centre
Dance 4 Marham - Dance club starting September 2008
Venue:
Sandringham centre RAF marham
Aim of Dance 4 Marham Dance club:
The aim of dance 4 marham dance club is to start a local dance group that can meet on a regular basis at the Sandringham centre. They will share ideas and perform both set choreography and their own work to all different types of music.
What the dance club will offer:
Rather than it being a set dance class, the pupils can come and learn new dance styles / moves. The club will work on putting dances together to create an annual dance show.
The dance club will hopefully bring members of the community together no matter what the person’s age or dance experience. (No dance experience is necessary.)
The club will offer a range of different dance styles including, street dance, contemporary dance, hip hop, freestyle, break dancing, contact improvisation, modern, jazz, musical theatre, mask work and physical theatre. The styles taught do not follow a strict syllabus yet they have a structure that enables steady progression and learning.
Each style will help gain flexibility, to develop a high level of fitness and stamina whilst also building strength and discipline. The club will focus on developing the person’s performance techniques and dance skills, and build confidence and communication skills at the same time, along with developing their creative skills, by allowing them to create and show their own dances and moves.
