RAF Introduces a Recruitment Bounty Scheme (RBS) - Earn yourself £1300!
The RAF has recently introduced a Recruitment Bounty Scheme (RBS), which provides serving RAF personnel with the opportunity to receive payment of £1300 for introducing a new recruit to a number of trades in the Service.
Air Commodore David Murray, Assistant Chief of Staff Training, said, It is no secret that the RAF is currently finding it difficult to recruit to a number of ‘pinch point’ ground branches and trades. We have, therefore, introduced the RBS in an attempt to increase the number of individuals joining the “difficult to recruit to” branches and trades. The plan is that the first 200 RBS introductions resulting in successful graduation from a Phase 2 course will result in a bounty payment of £1300 to the individual responsible for introducing the recruit”.
Under the scheme, the Service ‘sponsor’ introducing the individual and the potential recruit will complete an Introduction Proforma, which the individual submits during their initial visit to an Armed Forces’ Career Office (AFCO). Their progress through selection, attestation and training will then be monitored and will result in payment to the ‘sponsor’ upon successful completion of Phase 2 training in a recruiting ‘pinch point’ ground branch or trade. The scheme has been introduced for an initial period of 9 months starting with immediate effect and finishing on 30 Jun 08. Only recruits who apply to join recruitment ‘pinch point’ trades and branches in AFCOs between these dates will attract the bounty payment.
The scheme will be managed centrally by HQ 22 (Training) Group at HQ Air, where an RBS Desk has been established to act as focal point for the RBS.
