WORK EXPERIENCE AT RAF MARHAM - VOLUNTARY QUESTIONNAIRE

Students Work Experience comments for May 2006

Name : Clive Bowman
School : Methwold High School
Dates : 15-26 May 2006
Section of placement : Tornado Aircraft Servicing Flight (TASF)

This placement involves hands on work and getting dirty. All of this is good work. Nothing is bad or boring. When I started I felt nervous. The work was what I expected which was lots of work and using tools and working with others. I enjoyed going every day and looked forward to the next day. There was nothing bad.

Name : Adam Wilson
School : Cromer High School

I really enjoyed working with TMS and Photogs. I have learnt a lot about both trades and would love to do it again.

Name : Daniel Whitby
School : Terrington High School
Dates : 15-26 May 2006
Section of placement : II (AC) Squadron (II AC) Sqn) and Tornado Maintenance School (TMS)

I really enjoyed my time at RAF Marham. I preferred it at Squadron II because it was more hands on. It has given me an idea of what I want to do when I leave school.

Name : Sam Clarke
School : Bruntcliffe High School
Dates : 15-26 May 2006
Section of placement : Tornado Engineering Squadron (TES)

In TES I learned a lot about Tornado aircraft. The experience was absolutely fantastic. The two weeks I'd been in TES made me decide on the career in the RAF that I'm going to pick and sign up as I wouldn't think twice about coming back to RAF Marham.

Name : Josh Knapton

Section of placement : Tornado Components Squadron (TCS)

I recommend anyone doing work experience to come to RAF Marham. You learn all the in's and out's of everyday life in the RAF. I enjoyed my time here and wish I could stay longer. I have had all my questions answered and been treated well.

Name : Lauren Whitehair
School : Dereham Neatherd School
Dates : 22-26 May 2006
Section of placement : Air Traffic Control (ATC)

I enjoyed my week and have learned a lot about the ATC section. I helped and watched planes being controlled in and around Marham. Even though a lot of my work wasn't hands on I thoroughly enjoyed the placement.

Name : Aidan Pilgrim
School : Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School
Dates : 22-26 May 2006
Section of placement : Tornado Propulsion Flight (TPF)

I was worried the night before my placement about not being able to keep up with the work and it being really strict, however, I was working with friendly people who were happy to help me out if I needed it. If I was doing something slowly then they wouldn't hassle me but wait for me to finish and provide encouragement and help where necessary, so I apologise to all of them once again for making a 20 minute job take nearly double the time. All in, I really enjoyed my placement and it gave me a useful insight into work in the RAF.

Name : Danny Rayner
School : Methwold High School
Dates : 15-26 May 2006
Section of placement : Tornado Components Squadron (TCS)

I have really enjoyed my work placement at RAF Marham. When I first went to the electrical bay where I was working, I was very nervous. The people I worked with were really nice and made it as enjoyable as possible for me. I learnt a great deal of what it's like to be in the RAF. I would come back again.
