RAF Marham Work Experience Programme for Year 10 Students 2010
We are currently investigating the potential impact of the new Independent Safeguarding Authority checks and this may affect the ability to run the Work Experience programme. The website will be updated in due course with further information.
How to apply for Work Experience at RAF Marham
Work Experience Placements 2010 - YEAR 10 STUDENTS ONLY
10 May - 16 July 2010 with each placement for 1 week only.
(There will be no placements during the weeks 31 May – 4 Jun and 21 Jun – 25 Jun)
Applications for 2010 Work Experience Placements must be received by 18 December 2009
All students need to apply for a Work Experience Placement with a handwritten letter of introduction outlining the reasons for wanting a placement at RAF Marham and details of any hobbies or interests and positions of responsibility held. This should be sent along with a fully completed copy of the attached information form to Alison Smith, Media Communications Assistant at the following address:-
Royal Air Force Marham Media Communications Office Station Headquarters Building 22 Upper Marham Kings Lynn, Norfolk, PE33 9NP.
Out of Area students
Out of Area Students must make their own accommodation arrangements for the duration of their placement, as NO accommodation is available at RAF Marham.
Interview Successful applicants willundergo a further interview to assess suitability for a work placement. Interviews will take place from 1 – 12 February and will be held at the student’s school or by telephone, depending on location.
Confirmation of Placement
Students successful at interview will receive final confirmation in the post by March 2010.
Non British Passport Holders
Students who have a confirmed placement on the 2010 work experience programme who are not in possession of a British Passport are to contact the Media Communications Assistant as soon as possible, failure to do so could result in the placement being withdrawn.
Special Educational Needs
Due to the nature of the placements; students must declare any special education needs.
Work Placements for 2010
Please note that all the placements are available subject to operational commitments and can be withdrawn at any time. Not all placements are available for each week of the programme. If a placement is withdrawn we will do our best to place the student with another section, however, due to the high demand of placements this may not always be possible.
