Flight Sergeant Richard White receives a Commendation from Commander-In-Chief Air Command
Flight Sergeant Richard White (48), son of the late Phil White and Mrs Margaret Cox, recently received a Commendation from Commander-in-Chief of Air Command. Richard, an ex-pupil of Oldbury Wells School, arrived at RAF Marham, in Norfolk, in January 2004 and took control of one of the busiest Junior Ranks Messes in the Royal Air Force. He immediately established himself as a very competent manager and set about developing and improving the service the Mess provides to the junior ranks. His leadership has been inspirational, managing his team and resources with exceptional efficiency. He acted on his own initiative to refurbish and develop an all ranks function suite, which is now very popular with all station personnel.
The Catering Squadron, of which Richard is a member, raised over £25,000 for various charities over the past 12 months. He is extremely dedicated to providing his full support to Squadron fund raising events and actively encourages participation from his team. Tirelessly enthusiastic, he regularly organizes car boot sales, fetes and discos to raise funds for charities and is actively involved in many other fund raising events.
During his spare time he is also an active member of the Castle Lodge of Freemans and the Seven Lodge of Mark Master Masons, a large charity organization.
In recognition of his outstanding work and devotion to the Service and wider community, Flight Sergeant White was awarded a Commendation by the Commander-in-Chief Strike Command. Flight Sergeant White will shortly leave Royal Air Force Marham on posting to Brize Norton in the rank of Warrant Officer.
