Swaffham Swimming Pool - Update

The Swaffham Pool Association (SPA) met at their last meeting to hear the news that their Board of Directors, formed in the last quarter of 2006, had at last become a Company Limited by Guarentee, to be known by the title: ‘The Swaffham and District Pool Association Ltd’ .

The SPA Committee were delighted with this huge leap forward which will enable the campaign to step up a gear and bid for major funding schemes from corporate businesses in the area, Lottery and possibly from EU sources.

This is added to the achievements of last year, namely, the going ahead of the purchase of the land for the pool and leisure centre by Swaffham Town Council; the site being some two acres in size between the Eco Tech Project north side and the A47 by-pass. This couples with our recent agreement with Breckland Council that rights of access be given for the necessary adjoining road to be built from Turbine Way on Eco Tech to the pool site itself.
