Marham Aero Club Aircraft

Marham Aero Club Aircraft

We have 2 aircraft at our disposal: a Cessna 150 and a Piper PA-28 Cherokee, a third (T-67 Firefly) will be arriving at RAF Marham by the end of February 2012.

The Cessna 150 - G-JAGS
JAGS

G-JAGS seats 2 plus limited luggage and is a good instructional aircraft as well as being a capable tourer for 2 people. She has sufficient instrumentation to allow pilots to use her to train for their IMC ratings.

The PA-28 Cherokee - G-EEKY
G-EEKY

G-EEKY seats 4 people and luggage, and is capable of flying for 5 hours on one tank of fuel. She has a full IFR fit, including 2 x VOR, ILS, DME, ADF and 2 radios. She cruises at about 100 knots, so is definitely suitable for touring and is fully insured and equipped for overseas flight.

Both aircraft are serviced every 50 flying hours by a company at East Winch airfield. Each service is progressively more thorough, until the 150-hour check, which takes about a week as the aircraft is stripped right down. After that, the cycle of 50-hour checks starts again. Once a year both aircraft have a comprehensive annual service and every 3 years their Public Transport Certificate of Airworthiness is re-tested and renewed.

Both aircraft are fully insured for operating from RAF Marham and elsewhere.
