RAF Weapons policy
POSSESSION OF MARTIAL ARTS WEAPONS BY MEMBERS OF THE ROYAL AIR FORCE MARTIAL ARTS ASSOCIATION
1. As a member of the Royal Air Force Martial Arts Association you may be expected to possess relevant weapons for use in martial arts sports and competition. This may be while you represent the Royal Air Force, or train and compete within the Royal Air Force.
2. In order that you may do this, you have certain responsibilities:
a. To comply with the law of the land or military law (whichever being relevant).
b. To store the weapons in a responsible manner which reasonably prevents theft or misuse by untrained persons.
c. When travelling to/from training/events the weapons are to be covered from sight and to be secured in a manner that prevents their immediate employment.
3. All members of the Royal Air Force Martial Arts Association are reminded that their conduct in this regard reflects on the Association and on the Royal Air Force as a whole. Consequently, any weapons possessed should conform to that reasonably expected by their parent sports organisation. Weapons, and modifications, which do not reflect normal expected practice are not recognised by the Association and are not covered by this instruction.
