An RAF Medical Officer from 902 EAW was flown by a RN Merlin to pick up a USN Sailor from the USS Carter Hall in the Arabian Sea. The casualty’s condition was such that immediate CASEVAC was required to the nearest hospital ashore, with the RN Merlin being the nearest asset on task to assist.
