Tornado GR4 aircraft operating from Kandahar Air Field have been required to surge fly in order to meet operational tasking, generating around 25% extra Combat ISTAR coverage for UK Land Forces across the AO. Notably, following explosions and grenade attacks against friendly force patrols on 6 Mar, the GR4s provided a Show of Presence, escalating to a Show of Force, in order to deter any further Insurgent activity.
