Next steps
As an RAF Reservist, you’ll be part of a highly valued team. That’s why great emphasis is placed on the selection and training process, to ensure that Reserve Forces can attain the same high standards as full-time professionals in the RAF.
What kind of qualities do I need?
Three things are vital – enthusiasm, motivation and the ability to be a real team player.
You must be aged between 18 and 50 (or up to 55 if you have previous military experience); able to offer a minimum commitment of one weekend per month, plus extra time for basic training; and willing and able to commit to a total of 27 days per year (although some Reservists undertake many more days’ annual training).
Can I join?
You’ll need to be within our age limits, medically fit and a citizen of the UK or the Commonwealth. Previous military experience is not necessary.
