Qualifications you need: 606 Sqn will now only accept applications from people who have undertaken and passed the relevant GTE or GTM course at No 4S of TT. The only possible exception would be the legacy MT Tech and Gen Tech Mech, who would then have to participate in the appropriate assimilation training package supplied by the Sqn GTM Trade Trainer.

The job
As a General Technician Mechanical, you will help to maintain the RAF’s vehicles and ground support equipment. Serviceable vehicles and equipment are vital to the effectiveness of the RAF, ensuring that people and aircraft can be made available in the right place at the right time. Your duties will include regular maintenance checks, rectification of faults and changing of major components on a full range of vehicles and ground support equipment. This includes equipment powered by petrol, diesel or electric motors. You will also be trained to use specialist vehicle recovery equipment.
