The job

Logistics Drivers help to keep RAF personnel and equipment moving, ensuring that they are available in the right place at the right time. You could operate a range of vehicles, from light motor vehicles, minibuses and large goods vehicles to specialist airfield equipment such as aircraft refuellers, mobile cranes and ice clearance equipment. Your work might include delivering passengers to an airport or delivering operational supplies to a forward operating base in the desert. You will also carry out minor maintenance tasks such as fault finding, wheel changing and vehicle lubrication. Drivers normally operate on their own, often away from a unit, so are expected to show initiative in completing their tasks.
