The final game for the RAF Snr XV in the 2012 Inter Services was hosted by the RN at Burnaby Rd, Portsmouth on a water laden pitch in strong winds and driving rain which was to prove pivotal in the end result. A squad from the RAFRU represented the Royal Air Force in the inaugural International Defence Rugby Competition 2011. The IDRC is hosted by The Australian Defence Force in Canberra and Sydney and, in partnership with the New Zealand Defence Force, in Auckland.
