RAFSA Admiral Air Chief Marshal Sir Christopher Moran KCB OBE MVO ADC MA BSc RAF

Sport and Adventurous Training are key elements to promote self-confidence, leadership skills, and team spirit; they also help to develop a strong Service ethos. I am therefore delighted to be Admiral of RAFSA. Sailing, in all its forms, is an ideal way of testing and developing the RAF’s people, as well as improving the quality of life for Service personnel and their families. I am therefore keen to maximize the number of people who can be released from their primary duties for sport and adventurous training. In particular, I encourage our new recruits and junior ranks to try their hand at ‘something on the water’; windsurfing, dinghy sailing, offshore sailing and safety boating all offer excellent opportunities for the novice as well as the expert to extend their life skills and to meet with other colleagues. I look forward to seeing you on the water!
