Warrant Officer Darren Chapple from RAF St Mawgan has been named as one of the new Directors of the Amateur Boxing Association of England. Darren, who currently resides in Saltash, and who went to Saltash Community School has been within the International arena since 2007 when he was elected as GB/England Team Manager. He brings over 30 years experience to the board which he assumed last week at HQ UK Sports in Sheffield.

On the 26th March 2013, several members of the Survival Equipment Section, RAF St Mawgan, will be undertaking a challenge normally reserved for Special Forces Candidates, the Pen Y fan challenge. Carrying 18kg bergens and 5kg rifles, personnel will be trekking 24km over mountainous terrain of the Breacon Beacons, Wales, trying to acheive a sub 4hour 15min time.
