Inter-Services/RN Masters Meet - Milfield School on 29 Mar 09
In the world class swimming arena at Milfield, RAFSA started their pre Inter Services preparations with huge success at the Inter Service Masters Championships. The field was incredibly strong, not only from the RN and Army who had their top squads present, but from other Masters clubs who attended in force from across the UK. Every RAFSA swimmer came away with a medal and with a total medal haul of 14 Golds, 12 Silvers and 2 Bronzes the RAF were dominant over the RN and Army. Sqn Ldr Jayne Robertson, Fg Off Nick Harris, Sgt Simon (Spike) Buchan, Cpl Si Almond and SAC Susan Ransby all came way with Gold medals while Sqn Ldr Jayne Attwood, Cpl Ryan Norris and Cpl Rebecca Nicholls all picked up silver medals. Plt Off Mike Pugh also won a Bronze. The performance by all the swimmers shows the dedication and improvement over the last 12 months and is extremely promising as RAFSA head to a climactic finish to the season; Poland for the AIRCENTS and Germany for a training camp all in preparation for relay race across the English Channel and the Inter Services in July.
