Bike Lease Scheme
There is a stock of bikes that are available for use by RAF Triathlon Association members. The RAF Triathlon Bike Leasing Policy is shown below.
Spare bikes will be brought along to RAF Triathlon training weekends. The bikes are for the use of all members Advanced and Novice alike although priority will be given to nominated names from the Mens & Ladies Captains.
The Treasurer or the Deputy Treasurer will attempt to keep the numbers and sizes of bikes that are available up to date on this website. At the end of each season some bikes will be sold and new ones bought in. Details of bikes available for purchase will be published at the end of each season.
There is a stock of 10 bikes, shortly increasing to 12.
Please contact the Treasurer at any time if you wish to lease a bike for the short or long term. It is understood that individuals will collect their bike from RAF Brize Norton.
There is currently no charge for lease and and it is hoped it will remain so. The bike simply has to be returned in a serviced and serviceable state. The deposit cheque that is lodged with RAF Tri will only be cashed in the event that the bike is returned damaged.

Terms & Conditions:
· All bicycles are leased at your own risk. Accepting this hire agreement is accepting full liability for any accident or injury to either the RAF Tri Member or any third party. The RAF Tri Member is at all times personally liable for any accident that they may cause or damage to people or property. Personal insurance cover is not included. RAF Tri recommends you take out personal insurance cover prior to the hire period.
· The RAF Tri Member must inspect the bicycle before accepting it for any damage or defects. Acceptance of the bicycle is acceptance that it is in good roadworthy condition. Any marks, damage or defects should be notified prior to the lease.
· The full Deposit fee must be paid upon booking. A deposit of one third of the replacement cost per bike is due on the day when you collect the bike and can be cash or cheque. This will be held against any damage to the bike and returned upon return of the equipment in good condition. RAF Tri reserve the right to deduct monies from RAF Tri Member for repairs to damaged cycles returned from lease caused as a consequence of the RAF Tri Members dangerous cycling, loss of control or negligence.
· Bicycles hired on a lease agreement remains the property of RAF Tri and if the equipment is not returned, or is damaged beyond repair RAF Tri reserve the right to charge the RAF Tri Member for the full cost of the equipment and any loss incurred.
· Cycles should be locked to a permanent fixture whenever left unattended. The method of securing should include the front wheel and the frame. Theft of an unlocked bicycle will be the responsibility of the RAF Tri Member and will be subject to a charge of one third of the replacement cost per bike to cover the replacement of the bicycle and any accessories.
· RAF Tri reserves the right to charge for repairs in cases of misuse.
· The RAF Tri Member is expected to maintain the RAF Tri bike appropriately although it is understood that wear and tear will occur.
· As no charge is made for the leasing of RAF Tri bikes it is expected to be returned in a condition that they may be re-leased with no maintenance.
· The hirer must be a paid up member of RAF Tri to lease a bike and initial term is for one season 1 Nov – 31 Oct. This may be extended by one further season if no other RAF Tri members wish to lease a bike.
· The RAF Tri Member is responsible for updating his contact details with the Treasurer/Deputy Treasurer upon posting/detachment. The RAF Tri member is expected to return the bike in the event of an OOA detachment unless prior agreement has been obtained from the Treasurer. RAF Tri reserves the right to recover the bike and charge associated costs if the member is deployed and the bike is required.
