RAF Kinloss Band transferred to Lossiemouth

The RAF Kinloss Voluntary Band was formed in 1971 to provide musical support and opportunities for serving personnel at RAF Kinloss and RAF Lossiemouth. It is the only Voluntary Band in Scotland, and as such travels far and wide providing musical support for parades, dining-in nights, inspections and theme nights at RAF Stations Leuchars, Buchan, Saxa Vord, and Lossiemouth as well as Kinloss. Community support in the Moray area plays a particularly important part in the the Band's life with engagements to support all sections of the community including church services, fetes, gala days, concerts and local music festivals.

The closure of RAF Kinloss has meant that the Band, which has as many musicians serving at RAF Lossiemouth, has transferred to RAF Lossiemouth. Although the Band's base will remain at Kinloss in the short-term, it will now to be known as the RAF Lossiemouth Voluntary Band.
