Memorials
Station Memorial Garden
The Station has a peaceful Memorial Garden that can be visited by the public on application. The garden contains memorials to No 44 Rhodesia Squadron, as well as Nos 467 and 463 Squadrons of the Royal Australian Air Force. Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day are commemorated each year in the garden by Squadron Associations.
One of the memorials is made from the propeller blade of a downed Lancaster PD 259 JO-G, 463 Sqn. The memorial commemorates Flying Officer Beddoe and his crew as well as “the men and women of all nations who gave their lives for freedom” serving on Nos 467 and 463 Squadrons during 1942–1945.
If you wish to visit the Memorial Garden please apply in writing to the Station Commander at the address below.
