Station Health and Environmental Section
The Safety, Health and Environmental Protection Section is a small team of Ministry Of Defence civilians,dedicated to providing current and reliable advice, information and guidance to RAF Waddington.
The staff are managed by Forward Support Wing but have a direct link to the Station Commander, who is of course responsible for the well-being of all Station Personnel.
The objective of the Safety, Health and Environmental Protection section is to ensure that personnel at Waddington undertake all aspects of their work activities safely and legitimately, and Risks are suitably managed;for themselves, the equipment and our environment.The Safety Health and Environment Section provides advice and information on matters as broad ranging as engineering, noise, chemicals, operations, events and functions, works service and builds, working hours, conservation, radiation safety, environmental protection, to name but a few.
The section administers the MOD sponsored training courses that support these functions and available to nominated personnel.
The section ensures the maintenanceof the Safety Management system, including undertaking regular internal audits and inspections, maintenance of the Station Risk Assessments, conducting Accident and Incident investigations and reports, and provide guidance and advice to everyone on the unit.
