The members of the Avionics team are responsible for all electrical and avionic systems on the Hawk aircraft. The equipment that they maintain ranges from simple emergency compasses to complex engine control circuits.

In addition to maintaining existing equipment, the technicians are also responsible for introducing upgrades. This has included updating the communication systems to include a new VHF radio system.

They have also recently installed new engine performance monitoring equipment which enables their mechanical technician colleagues to manage the condition of each engine more efficiently.

The avionics technicians also apply their knowledge to fit onboard video equipment used to capture exciting airborne footage seen regularly on television.
