Flt Lt Rob Brennan was born in Stamford, Lincs in 1964. After attending Stamford School, Rob went to UCNW Bangor to study Marine Biology and Oceanography. He developed a love for flying as a member of the University of Wales Air Squadron and subsequently joined the RAF in 1986. Following pilot training on the Jet Provost and Hawk aircraft, Rob was posted to fly the Tornado GR1, serving on Nos 11(AC) and 17(F) Sqns in Germany, from where he flew operational missions over Iraq, and as an OCU instructor on No XV(R) Sqn ay RAF Lossiemouth.
Following promotion to Squadron leader, Rob served as a Flight Commander flying Hawks on No 100(B) Sqn at RAF Leeming and as a Board of Inquiry Advisor at Bentley Priory. He was then posted to RAF Linton-on-Ouse to become a QFI, initially on 72(R) Sqn and finally as OC CFS (Tucano) Sqn. Rob retired from the RAF in Nov 09 and immediately rejoined as a Full Time Reservist, continuing his previous role as a QFI on No 207(R) Sqn at Linton-on-Ouse before returning full circle to CFS to train new instructors. Rob is married with three children.
