Benson village is our local village and it has an excellent range of village shops including a supermarket, butchers, greengrocers, vets, card/gift shop, chemist, doctors, and beauty salon. There are several pubs in Benson village and in the local area which offer reasonably priced meals. There are also a number of fine-dining establishments in the area including Le Manior Aux Quat Saisons whose head chef is Raymond Blanc. Ewelme village, which is also very close to RAF Benson, has it's own village store, run by local residents.

Wallingford is our closest town. It has a good range of shops from Waitrose supermarket to small antique and jewellery stores as well as banks, coffee shops, stationers, hardware stores, shoe shops and a number of charity shops amongst many others. There are also a number of attractions in the town including parks, a ruined medieval castle and the Corn Exchange theatre/cinema.

Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, has many cultural attractions, including the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford Castle, cinemas, an ice rink, bowling alley, bingo and a vast range of shops. Oxford is about 12 miles from Benson.

Reading is another local city that provides a huge selection of shops which can mainly be found in the Oracle shopping and entertainment complex. Reading also boasts easy access into London by train and road. Reading is approx 15 miles from Benson.

Henley is a fashionable town full restaurants and shops and is famous for the annual Regatta. It is approx 12 miles from Benson and can be reached easily on public transport directly from the main gate to the Station (bus service 139 from Thames Travel).

There are also a number of attractions within easy driving distance of Benson including the Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace alongst the diverse range of activities.
